World Theatre Day is a celebration for those who can see the value and importance of the art form “theatre”, and acts as a wake-up-call for governments, politicians and institutions which have not yet recognised its value to the people and to the individual and have not yet realised its potential for economic growth.Theatre can show us who we are, who we were and who we could be. It means imagining bigger, understanding better, feeling together. Thriller Live has been touring the world since 2007. Here are just a few shots of our cast and crew from South Africa to Brazil and beyond…Happy #worldtheatreday #thrillerlive #michaeljackson ...

One year ago today Thriller Live played it’s last show in the West End and our UK tour was cut short due to the pandemic. It’s been a difficult 12-months for the theatre industry and those who work in it - from performers, musicians, crew, creatives and to everyone else behind the scenes who make these shows possible. But there is positive news ahead with theatres in England set to re-open from the 17th May. We hope Thriller Live will return before the end of the year... we certainly have missed the magic of playing in front of live audiences.Watch this space! #thrillerlive #michaeljackson #westendtheatre ...

20-years ago today, 7th March 2001, Michael Jackson attended 'The Tenth Annual Michael Jackson Day' at the Hammersmith Apollo, London. This tribute show would be the forerunner to ‘Thriller Live’.The production featured over 100 performers including a gospel choir, children’s ballet, West End performers and several pop acts.Three thousand overjoyed fans gave Michael a deafening 2-minute standing ovation as he hobbled on stage with crutches (his foot in a cast from an accident the week before). The venue erupted with his every word. Especially when he spoke about his forthcoming album, 'Invincible', and then commenting on the evening's entertainment, "...it was beautiful and incredible!”This provided the inspiration for the annual tribute to be turned into a theatrical stage show which could be enjoyed by millions all over the world. ‘Thriller Live’ went on to premiere on the 26th August 2006, with it’s first UK tour starting on the 6th May 2007.Photos by Sven Hoogerhuis.#thrillerlive #michaeljackson #rememberthetime ...

David Julien, one of the stars from our West End production, has made a series of ‘online’ duets during the long lockdown months in London. He wanted to include something from the show so he asked our MD/Arranger John Maher to join him on 'She’s Out Of My Life' (originally recorded by Michael Jackson for his 'Off The Wall' album). For this rendition John suggested using just guitar and voice to really bring out the song’s emotions. With so many people feeling isolated and lonely at the moment it could hardly be more pertinent. So we thought we’d share it with our extended Thriller family. We hope you like it as much as we do, and we hope it helps you through these difficult times. #MichaelJackson #ThrillerLive #DavidJulien #JohnMaher ...

On this day, 21st January 2009, Thriller Live premiered at the Lyric Theatre, where it went on to become the longest ever running show at the venue, and the 12th longest running show of all-time in the West End.The original lead singers were Denise Pearson, John Moabi, Ben Forster, Roger Wright, Ricko Baird and Kieran Alleyne. The Daily Telegraph commented in their review, “Gary Lloyd, who doubles as director and choreographer, keeps the energy level at fever pitch almost throughout, and his dance routines, featuring daring leaps from an on-stage bridge, break-dancing, and, yes, the moonwalk, are spectacular. There is also a terrific band, ranging with aplomb from funk, soul and disco, through candy-rush pop to guitar-led rock.”Following the show producers Paul Walden, Derek Nicol and Adrian Grant put on an after-party at the Café de Paris with plenty of celebrity guest in attendance including Tito and LaToya Jackson, Nicholas Hoult, Tameka Empson, George Sampson, Lulu, Liberty X and many more.#ThrillerLive #michaeljackson #westendtheatre ...

On this day, 25-years ago, 27th November 1995, Michael Jackson released ‘Earth Song’, his best-selling single in the UK, which went on to top the charts for 6-weeks and claim the Christmas number one.Michael said of the song's creation: "I remember writing 'Earth Song' when I was in Austria, in a hotel. And I was feeling so much pain and so much suffering of the plight of the planet Earth. And for me, this is Earth's Song, because I think nature is trying so hard to compensate for man's mismanagement of the Earth. And with the ecological unbalance going on, and a lot of the problems in the environment, I think earth feels the pain, and she has wounds, and it's about some of the joys of the planet as well. But this is my chance to pretty much let people hear the voice of the planet. And this is 'Earth Song'. And that's what inspired it."It is truly an inspirational song, which is even more relevant today with everything going on around our planet and climate change. The cast of Thriller Live, who enjoyed performing it every night on stage, recorded a cover version during lockdown, and you can enjoy the full amazing rendition here:youtu.be/G0NPHLlvUg0#MichaelJackson #EarthSong #ClimateChange #MakeAChange ...

#LetTheMusicPlayThe live music industry added £4.5bn to the economy in 2019 and supported 210,000 jobs across the country. Now, up to 50% of the live music industry's workforce is facing unemployment. Without government aid and a defined timeline, the industry will continue to struggle and jobs will continue to be lost, leading to a catastrophic loss of skills.Support us by getting involved with the #LetTheMusicPlay hashtag and by signing your name to the Let the Music Play letter here: bit.ly/2VyRzz9 ...
