Behind the mask: Cast & creatives

Angelica Allen

Lead Vocalist

Some of Angelica's earliest memories are of listening to her father's record collection in their New York family home. Deeply inspired by the soulful vocals of Stevie Wonder, Mariah Carey, Minnie Riperton, and of course, MJ himself, she began studying singing and piano to emulate her idols.

Her love of song writing married the two disciplines and after completing a degree in Journalism at Boston University, she returned to New York to pursue her love of music full-time. She cut her teeth as a session vocalist and began touring professionally throughout America, Europe, Asia, and Australia, singing with groups like The Trans Siberian Orchestra, the 17-piece disco ensemble Escort, and her own audio-visual song writing project My Midnight Heart. With My Midnight Heart, Angelica was named Rolling Stone’s “Band to Watch” in 2013, and has been featured as both a singer and songwriter in SPIN Magazine, Vice Magazine, Entertainment Weekly, Pitchfork.com, and many other publications.

She has been sponsored and styled by the fashion brand All Saints for live performances and worked closely with Converse for custom footwear looks for her shows. She headlined two of the Converse Rubbertracks Live festivals in both Los Angeles and New York City along with popular Indie artists Solange Knowles, Blood Orange, and Nick Waterhouse. In 2014 she opened for the Grammy award winning pop duo Tegan and Sara on their North American "Let's Make Things Physical" tour.

Angelica then transitioned to theatre with the cast of Thriller Live, touring the United Kingdom, Europe, Egypt, and Israel. Her latest travels took her as far as Macau, China for a special performance commemorating the grand opening of The Parisian hotel which the touring cast of Thriller Live opened in Autumn 2016.

Angelica is honoured to be a part of this incredible ensemble and excited to grow as an artist and performer as the leading lady of Thriller Live! To follow her journey more closely, find her on Twitter and Instagram @mymidnightheart
